6 DIY Gift Ideas

Late Night Crafting

Hope you’re all having an amazing month! This week’s blog post will Handmade Market Table Display Dec 2015offer 6 Gift Ideas, some DIY’s, some not, that you can get RIGHT NOW. But before we dive right into the list, let us tell you about our Celebrate Shelton Downtown Handmade Market experience. As always, this was an amazing event filled with artists, small businesses and amazing community members. We started our morning with some delicious baked snacks, gourmet coffee and a sneak peek at Three Bridges Coffee House. After that, we were ready to take on the day!

We had the opportunity to accept and deliver some custom orders, Elle Serra and WoodyThingsas well as meet some awesome artists we hadn’t met before. If you follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram you know that we had the opportunity to meet and greet Connecticut’s own, Elle Sera! You might’ve seen us in total fan girl fashion, but after listening to Elle, it’s darn near IMPOSSIBLE to not love her and her music. Anyways, check her out and make your own decision… but I know I’m right =)

Following with the holiday gift giving trend, here’s some interesting and different gift ideas you may choose to adopt this holiday season. And here’s a hint, the gift presentation is just as awesome (if not MORE) than the gifts themselves!

1. Gifts in a Jar by The Gunny Sack

Wee love these mason jar ideas because you can personalize each one to your recipient’s theme. For example, do you have a writer or artist? Fill a mason jar with their favorite sketching pencils or favorite fine tipped pens. Throw in a gift card to their favorite store/restaurant.  How about a grooming kit or a survival kit complete with outdoorsy stuff like waterproof matches, paracord bracelet and a pocket or utility knife?

2. Smash and Grab by Man Crates

Maybe you have a person in your life that enjoys a little hands-on action. Well, here’s a perfect gift idea by the people at Man Crates.

A concrete brick engineered to be as frustrating to crack as his stubborn taste. Once fully demolished, he’ll be left with a code that can be redeemed for his choice of gift card. A fun mess with no stress.

We like this idea because its interactive… albeit a bit violent, but totally satisfying! The kit comes with glasses, a hammer and the concrete block.

3. Digital Device Sleeve by Sew4Home

You cant go wrong with electronics and their accessories. Sure, you can purchase a mass produced item… OR, yup, you can put one together yourself and make it exactly how your recipient (or maybe just how YOU) would love it.

4. Men’s Double Paracord Cuff by CitySoldier32

Do you know someone with a knack for fashion? Check out these men accessories by New York City designer Luis Rodriguez.

This awesome bracelet is made of industrial strength paracord. Finished with a silver clip and a signature hand-stamped city soldier tag disc, this wrist armor makes an awesome statement. Blue paracord is nicely contrasted by Red wrap cording.

This makes an excellent gift for men or young adults.

Whether you drink warm beverages like tea, coffee, cocoa or cider, or cold drinks like …. well, you know the types. No matter what your drink of choice is, you should be protecting your furniture in style. Make your very own coasters and personalize them for others.
