Wooden LOVE Blocks DIY

These wooden LOVE blocks are one of those DIY’s that you will NOT want to put away after Valentines day. The great thing about them is that you wont have to! They’re perfect not only for valentines day, but all year round.

You wont believe how easy they are to make too. Just take a look

Materials & Supplies:

Supplies

  • 4 Wooden Blocks (3 1/4 x 3 1/4 )
  • Dark Red Acrylic Paint
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Black Sharpie
  • Stencils
  • Sand Paper
  • Sponge brush
  • Thin tip paint brush

Step 1

We cut our 3 1/4” X 3 1/4” blocks from an 8 ft , 2 x 4 piece of lumber that we had purchased at home depot.

If you don’t have the means to cut these yourself no worries, You can get 3 1/4” X 3 1/4” blocks at www.Michaels.com or you can get them from our site for less. Just click here to get your Unfinished Wooden Blocks

Step 2

Paint each block with the Dark Red paint. Give each block at least 2 coats of paint. Let it dry between each coat.

Step 3

Once your blocks are completely dry, sand each block until you see some of the wood underneath the paint.

Step 4

Place your letter stencils over each block and outline each letter with your black sharpie. If you have nice hand writing then you don’t need stencils for this step.

Paint in each letter with your black Acrylic paint

Paint in your letters

Let your paint dry and your done!

Place these block anywhere around your home or office. They look great near some framed family photos on a mantle, shelf or table/desk OR even stacked on some books on a bookcase.
