Description
This is the perfect gift for any Marine or Veteran to store his or her Marine Corps valuables. Some suggestions include:
- Eagle, Globe and Anchor earned after completing the crucible, Promotion Chevrons, Dog tags, Tie Clasps, Watches, Currency collected during overseas travel, or even motivational letters received while at the Recruit Training Depot.
- We wood-stained this beautiful keepsake box in two different shades to better highlight its features. The box is made of solid pine wood.
- The letters “U.S.M.C.” (on the outside lid) and the Eagle Globe and Anchor (inside lid) are painted on. Additionally, we lined the inside/bottom of the box to resemble the Marine Corps Dress Blues trousers.
This makes a great and thoughtful gift for any Marine!
A little bit about the details and Marine Corps history:
This item pays homage to our beloved Marine Corps Dress Blues uniform. This piece is made out of solid Pine wood, and includes the Marine Corps NCO Blood Stripe, which Non-Commissioned Officers and above wear on their dress blues uniform.
As tradition recalls, the blood stripe was earned during the Battle of Chapultepec, in September 1847. Marine officers and NCOs sustained an unusually high casualty rate during this battle.
Centered and in the front you will notice a dark silhouette of the Eagle Globe and Anchor painted with pride.
There is no better symbol for the purpose we serve than the emblem every Marine earns: the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. The eagle represents the proud nation we defend. It stands at the ready with our coastlines in sight and the entire world within reach of its outstretched wings. The globe represents our worldwide presence. The anchor points both to the Marine Corps’ naval heritage and its ability to access any coastline in the world. Together, the eagle, globe and anchor symbolize our commitment to defend our nation—in the air, on land and at sea.
The Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem has been part of the Marine Corps Uniform since 1868, and became the official emblem of the Marine Corps in 1955.
This item is proud to have been designed and made in the U.S. of A!
